VP of AI Infrastructure

Own the compute, training infrastructure, and model serving systems that are the physical foundation of TAL Corp's AGI.

About This Role

AGI requires infrastructure that does not yet exist in its final form. The VP of AI Infrastructure owns the hardware, networking, and software systems that run TAL's most demanding workloads.

Responsibilities
  • Own the AI infrastructure strategy — training clusters, serving infrastructure, and compute procurement
  • Lead the ML infrastructure and model serving engineering teams
  • Drive relationships with NVIDIA, AMD, and cloud AI hardware providers
  • Own the compute budget — the largest cost centre at TAL Corp
  • Design the infrastructure roadmap to support 10x scale within 2 years
  • Partner with research team on next-generation training infrastructure requirements
Requirements
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering
  • 14+ years infrastructure engineering with 6+ years in AI infrastructure leadership
  • Deep expertise in GPU cluster design, distributed training, and model serving
  • Experience managing large-scale compute spend ($50M+ annually)
  • Strong vendor management and hardware procurement experience
Nice to Have
  • Prior VP AI Infrastructure or equivalent at a frontier AI lab
  • Background in hardware-software co-design
  • Experience with custom AI accelerators or ASIC development
