Senior Director of Engineering
Own a major engineering domain at TAL Corp — providing senior technical and people leadership across multiple teams.
About This Role
Senior Directors own large, strategic engineering domains. You will lead multiple teams, set multi-quarter technical strategy, and be a key voice in company-level engineering decisions.
Responsibilities
- ▸Lead 3–6 engineering teams (20–40 engineers) across a major product or infrastructure domain
- ▸Own multi-quarter engineering roadmap and architectural strategy for your domain
- ▸Build and develop a team of engineering managers and principal engineers
- ▸Drive cross-functional engineering initiatives spanning multiple teams
- ▸Represent your domain in executive planning and resource allocation
- ▸Set technical vision and standards that influence company-wide best practices
Requirements
- ▸BS/MS in Computer Science
- ▸14+ years engineering with 6+ years in people management
- ▸Experience leading large engineering organisations through rapid scaling
- ▸Strong executive communication and influence skills
- ▸Deep domain expertise in at least one major technical area
Nice to Have
- ▸Prior Senior Director or equivalent at a top tech or AI company
- ▸Experience leading both product and infrastructure engineering
- ▸Background in AI/ML systems at scale
