Safety Engineer
Build the red-team infrastructure and automated testing pipelines that keep TAL models safe before and after deployment.
About This Role
Safety at TAL Corp is not a checkbox — it is a first-class engineering discipline. You will own the systems that catch failure modes before users do.
Responsibilities
- ▸Design and maintain automated red-team and adversarial testing pipelines
- ▸Build real-time monitoring dashboards for model behaviour anomalies
- ▸Define safety SLOs and alerting thresholds across all production models
- ▸Partner with alignment researchers to translate findings into deployed guardrails
- ▸Conduct structured incident reviews after any safety-related event
Requirements
- ▸BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- ▸3+ years in software engineering with a focus on reliability or security
- ▸Familiarity with LLM evaluation frameworks and prompt injection attack patterns
- ▸Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automated test infrastructure
- ▸Strong written communication for safety reports
Nice to Have
- ▸Background in adversarial machine learning
- ▸Experience with formal threat modelling
- ▸Familiarity with NIST AI RMF or ISO 42001
