Research Scientist — Reasoning & Planning
Develop AI systems capable of multi-step reasoning, long-horizon planning, and autonomous problem decomposition.
About This Role
True general intelligence requires more than pattern matching — it requires the ability to reason, plan, and act over long horizons. This role is at the frontier of making that real.
Responsibilities
- ▸Research chain-of-thought, tree-of-thought, and novel reasoning architectures
- ▸Design planning algorithms for long-horizon agentic tasks
- ▸Build evaluation suites for multi-step reasoning and tool use
- ▸Collaborate with agentic systems team to deploy reasoning capabilities safely
- ▸Publish findings at top AI venues
Requirements
- ▸PhD in AI, Cognitive Science, or related field
- ▸Deep expertise in reasoning, planning, or search algorithms
- ▸Experience with reinforcement learning and reward modelling
- ▸Strong Python and PyTorch skills
Nice to Have
- ▸Background in formal logic, theorem proving, or program synthesis
- ▸Experience with MCTS, A*, or other search algorithms applied to LLMs
- ▸Familiarity with neurosymbolic approaches
