HR Business Partner

Partner directly with TAL Corp's engineering and research teams to support their people needs — from hiring to performance to team health.

About This Role

The HRBP role at TAL Corp is not administrative — it is strategic. You will be embedded in the teams you support, acting as a trusted advisor to managers and a champion for employees.

Responsibilities

▸Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned teams (engineering, research, operations)
▸Coach managers on performance conversations, development planning, and team dynamics
▸Partner with recruiting to support headcount planning and candidate evaluation
▸Lead employee relations investigations and resolve workplace conflicts fairly
▸Analyse people data (attrition, engagement, performance) and recommend actions
▸Support the annual performance review and compensation calibration cycles
▸Design and run team health surveys and follow-up action planning

Requirements

▸BS in Human Resources, Business, or Psychology
▸4+ years HRBP or HR generalist experience, ideally in a tech environment
▸Strong understanding of employment law and HR compliance
▸Experience supporting technical teams — comfortable with engineering and research culture
▸Data-literate — able to use people analytics to inform decisions
▸Excellent listening, coaching, and written communication skills

Nice to Have

▸Prior experience at an AI company or research lab
▸Background in organisational psychology or behavioural science
▸SHRM-CP or PHR certification
