Head of People

Build and lead TAL Corp's people function from the ground up — creating the culture, systems, and team that attract and retain world-class talent.

About This Role

People are TAL Corp's most important asset. The Head of People owns the full employee experience — from the moment someone applies to the day they become an alumni — and builds the culture that makes TAL Corp a place where exceptional people do their best work.

Responsibilities
  • Define and own TAL Corp's people strategy — hiring, development, retention, and culture
  • Build and lead the HR team as the company scales from 20 to 200+ employees
  • Design compensation philosophy, equity programmes, and benefits strategy
  • Partner with leadership on organisational design and team structure
  • Own the performance review cycle, career ladders, and promotion frameworks
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across all hiring and people practices
  • Build onboarding programmes that ramp new hires to full effectiveness fast
Requirements
  • BS/MS in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, or Business
  • 8+ years HR experience with 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record scaling people operations at a high-growth tech company
  • Deep expertise in compensation design, performance management, and employment law
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience navigating complex people situations with empathy and fairness
Nice to Have
  • Prior experience at an AI lab, research organisation, or deep tech company
  • Background in organisational development or change management
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification
