Head of Cloud
Own TAL Corp's cloud strategy end-to-end — architecture, cost, vendor relationships, and the team that keeps everything running globally.
About This Role
Cloud is the foundation of everything TAL Corp does. The Head of Cloud owns the strategy, architecture, vendor relationships, and team that make TAL Corp's global infrastructure possible.
Responsibilities
- ▸Own the cloud strategy across AWS, GCP, and any future providers
- ▸Lead the cloud engineering team and cloud architecture function
- ▸Drive cost optimisation — reserved capacity, spot strategy, waste elimination
- ▸Own cloud security posture, compliance certifications, and vendor SLAs
- ▸Negotiate enterprise agreements with AWS, GCP, NVIDIA, and other key vendors
- ▸Define multi-region and disaster recovery architecture
Requirements
- ▸BS/MS in Computer Science or Systems Engineering
- ▸12+ years cloud infrastructure with 5+ years in leadership
- ▸Expert-level knowledge of AWS and GCP architecture at scale
- ▸Deep FinOps experience — managing cloud spend of $10M+ annually
- ▸Strong vendor management and contract negotiation experience
Nice to Have
- ▸Background in AI/ML cloud workloads and GPU provisioning
- ▸Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures
- ▸AWS or GCP professional-level certifications
