Data Engineer — Trainee

About This Role

Data is the foundation of AGI. As a fresher data engineer, you will learn to build production pipelines at scale, working alongside senior engineers on systems that process billions of data points daily.

Responsibilities
  • Write and maintain SQL queries and Python scripts for data transformation and analysis
  • Assist in building and monitoring ETL pipelines under senior engineer supervision
  • Help validate data quality and investigate anomalies in production pipelines
  • Learn to work with distributed data systems — BigQuery, Spark, and dbt
  • Document data schemas, pipeline logic, and data dictionary entries
Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science, Data Science, or a quantitative field (graduated between 2019 and 2026)
  • Strong SQL skills — comfortable writing complex joins, window functions, and aggregations
  • Python proficiency for data manipulation (pandas, NumPy)
  • Understanding of database design and data modelling principles
  • Analytical mindset and attention to data quality
Nice to Have
  • Academic or project experience with data pipelines or ETL workflows
  • Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, or cloud data warehouses
  • Experience with any BI tool — Looker, Metabase, or Tableau
