AI Trainer — Trainee
Shape how TAL Corp's AI models learn and respond — creating high-quality training data and evaluating model outputs at the frontier of AGI.
About This Role
AI trainers are the human bridge between raw capability and useful, safe AI. As a fresher AI trainer, you will curate training data, evaluate model responses, and help build the evaluation frameworks that define what "good" means for frontier AI models.
Responsibilities
- ▸Create and curate high-quality training data across diverse domains and task types
- ▸Evaluate model outputs for accuracy, safety, helpfulness, and factual correctness
- ▸Write detailed rubrics and annotation guidelines for data quality tasks
- ▸Assist in designing evaluation benchmarks for new model capabilities
- ▸Identify failure modes, biases, and edge cases in model behaviour
Requirements
- ▸BS/MS in any field — domain expertise and critical thinking matter more than degree title (graduated between 2019 and 2026)
- ▸Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical reasoning
- ▸Excellent written communication skills in English
- ▸Genuine interest in AI safety and responsible AI development
- ▸Comfort with ambiguity — many evaluation tasks require nuanced judgement
Nice to Have
- ▸Experience with prompt engineering or LLM evaluation
- ▸Background in linguistics, philosophy, journalism, or a STEM discipline
- ▸Familiarity with annotation platforms (Label Studio, Prodigy, Scale AI)
