Director of Infrastructure

Own TAL Corp's infrastructure strategy — the cloud architecture, networking, and compute systems that underpin every product and model.

About This Role

TAL Corp runs some of the most compute-intensive workloads in existence. The Director of Infrastructure owns the strategy, architecture, and team that makes those workloads possible at any scale.

Responsibilities
  • Define and own the multi-year infrastructure architecture strategy
  • Lead a team of infrastructure engineers, SREs, and cloud architects
  • Own the cloud cost strategy — RI coverage, spot fleet management, and FinOps
  • Drive infrastructure security, compliance, and disaster recovery planning
  • Partner with the ML team on GPU cluster design and training infrastructure
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with AWS, GCP, and hardware vendors
Requirements
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or Systems Engineering
  • 12+ years infrastructure or cloud engineering with 5+ years in leadership
  • Expert-level AWS and/or GCP architecture at petabyte and GPU scale
  • Strong FinOps and cost management experience
  • Experience leading infrastructure organisations of 10+ engineers
Nice to Have
  • Background in AI/ML training infrastructure and GPU cluster management
  • Experience with bare-metal alongside cloud infrastructure
  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional or GCP Professional certification
