Director of Cloud Architecture
Define the cloud architecture standards and patterns that every engineering team at TAL Corp builds on.
About This Role
Good cloud architecture decisions compound over time. The Director of Cloud Architecture makes those decisions — setting the patterns, guardrails, and standards that keep TAL Corp's infrastructure clean, secure, and scalable.
Responsibilities
- ▸Define and own cloud architecture standards and reference architectures
- ▸Lead architecture reviews for new systems and major infrastructure changes
- ▸Build and maintain the cloud architecture decision record (ADR) library
- ▸Drive the well-architected review programme across all engineering teams
- ▸Partner with Security on cloud security architecture and zero-trust implementation
- ▸Evaluate and recommend new cloud services, tools, and patterns
Requirements
- ▸BS/MS in Computer Science or Systems Engineering
- ▸12+ years cloud engineering with 4+ years in architecture roles
- ▸Expert-level AWS and/or GCP with multiple professional certifications
- ▸Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems
- ▸Strong technical communication skills
Nice to Have
- ▸Experience architecting AI/ML training and serving infrastructure
- ▸Background in cloud-native security architecture
- ▸Experience with FinOps and cloud cost architecture
