Chief AI Officer
Own TAL Corp's AI strategy — ensuring our models are the most capable, safest, and most accessible in the world.
About This Role
The Chief AI Officer is responsible for the quality, safety, and strategic direction of TAL Corp's AI systems. You will own the model roadmap, evaluation framework, and external scientific reputation.
Responsibilities
- ▸Define and own the AI model roadmap — capabilities, safety, and deployment strategy
- ▸Lead the AI function spanning research, alignment, and applied science
- ▸Set the evaluation and benchmarking standards for all TAL Corp models
- ▸Own external scientific positioning — papers, conferences, and media
- ▸Partner with the CPO on translating model capabilities into product strategy
- ▸Advise on regulatory and policy matters related to AI safety and governance
Requirements
- ▸PhD in Machine Learning, AI, or Cognitive Science
- ▸15+ years in AI research or AI product leadership
- ▸Recognised thought leader in the AI field
- ▸Strong executive and board communication skills
- ▸Demonstrated ability to bridge scientific research and commercial product strategy
Nice to Have
- ▸Prior Chief Scientist, VP AI, or equivalent at a frontier AI lab
- ▸Track record of research and products that have shaped the AI landscape
- ▸Deep expertise in AI safety alongside capabilities
