Autonomous Agent Researcher
Research the algorithms and architectures that enable safe, capable autonomous AI agents for real-world long-horizon tasks.
About This Role
TAL Corp's ALPHA A1 is already agentic. This role pushes that capability further — building agents that can autonomously plan, act, and correct themselves across days and weeks.
Responsibilities
- ▸Design novel architectures for autonomous long-horizon agents
- ▸Research memory, context management, and self-correction mechanisms
- ▸Build benchmarks for evaluating agent capability and safety simultaneously
- ▸Collaborate with safety team to define acceptable autonomous action boundaries
- ▸Publish research on agentic AI at top venues
Requirements
- ▸PhD in AI, Robotics, or Cognitive Science
- ▸Deep experience with RL, planning, or multi-agent systems
- ▸Strong publication record in autonomous agents or decision-making under uncertainty
- ▸Proficiency with Python and reinforcement learning libraries
Nice to Have
- ▸Background in robotics or embodied AI
- ▸Experience with multi-agent coordination and game theory
- ▸Familiarity with formal verification for agent safety
